The service point gained Health Centre status in the early 1940's. It became a Government Hospital in the early 1940's when Sefwi Wiawso locality gained local council status called Wiawso - Bekwai - Anhwiaso - Juaboso local council.
It was during Dr. Ebenezer Acquah's administration that the Hospital was moved from the old site to its current place on 8th August, 1994 even though the new site was built in 1992.
The following Doctors, in order of presentation, had been in charge of the Hospital since it was moved to the new site.

- Dr. Atuquaye Kortei
As at the time the Hospital was being moved from the old site, the bed complement was Twenty (20). Thus, eight (8) beds at the female ward and twelve (12) at the male ward.
As at now, the bed state of the Hospital is 92.
